I’m excited to be sharing this day that is so near and dear to my heart, Madison and Andrew’s elegant St Regis Deer Valley wedding. With the help of Michelle Leo Events, they created a modern yet timeless atmosphere on their wedding day that made for an unforgettable evening. I cannot wait to share all the gorgeous photos from their day along with some details on this special couple. I’ll also give some insight into one of my favorite Utah venues, St. Regis Deer Valley and touch on the timeless and elegant design that set the scene for this gorgeous wedding. Plus, stay tuned until the end of the post from some wedding planning tips from our bride on how to create a luxurious yet laid back wedding your guests will never forget.
After we started working together, Madison actually told me she discovered my work before she had a wedding planner or venue picked out- or even a ring on her finger for that matter! My work caught her eye one day on social media and she loved that my photos felt so organic and natural while at the same time feeling soft and romantic. Easy to say, it was a match made in heaven. I feel so honored when couples recognize and understand my photographic approach and decide to book me based on our mutual values. From the first moment we connected, I knew that capturing Madison and Andrew’s St. Regis Deer Valley wedding would be something special. A few kind words from the bride about our experience working together…
“Megan is uniquely able to capture the individual essence, personalities, and emotions of each couple and wedding she works on which I think is one of the most important parts about the day because it all feels like a blur when the festivities are over, so the photos are all you have to look at to reminisce on.”
And I couldn’t agree more, every wedding day goes by so quickly and my goal is to help you relive all the little moments and emotions that make up the best day of your life.
St. Regis Deer Valley is the ultimate Utah venue for an elegant mountain wedding. If you’re looking for a one-stop-shop when it comes to your venue, this is a great option. They have eleven different rooms to choose from that can accommodate an intimate microwedding or a large reception for up to 500 guests. They have a world class culinary team on-site that can help you craft a custom wedding menu or rehearsal dinner. If you have guests traveling in from out of town, you won’t find more gorgeous amenities to provide your loved ones with an incredible experience. Not to mention, if you opt for a winter wedding, Deer Valley is home to some of the best skiing in the world.
For their late summer celebration, Madison and Andrew opted for an outdoor wedding reception under a clear top tent draped in twinkling lights. Guests were able to enjoy mountain views during the afternoon and danced under the stars at night. For their ceremony, they exchanged their vows outside on the lawn with sweeping views of the Utah landscape as their backdrop. Another thing I love about this venue is the multiple locations we can take advantage of for family, wedding party, and bride and groom photos. The late August sunset and lush green grounds made for some seriously stunning photos as you’ll see in the gallery below.
Even though this venue has so many luxurious details, it still has an intimate and laid back feel. Madison and Andrew really wanted their wedding to feel personal to them and for their guests (who had all traveled from out of town) to feel at home. To achieve that, they included farm tables with big comfortable chairs and lit the clear top tent with tons of glowing candles for the reception. They opted for a non-traditional food service to make it feel like their guests were dining in their own home with them and chose a family style menu made for sharing. They also included some of their guests favorite bottles of wine to enjoy at each table which I absolutely loved. The comfortable atmosphere carried on into the evening with every single guest hitting the dance floor enjoying the three piece band and DJ well into the night.
As for design and decor, Michelle Leo and her team truly never disappoint. In Madison’s words, she felt like she and her team were truly mind readers because they went above and beyond taking into account every want, need, and detail of the vision for their wedding day. The overall vibe they were trying to create was mountain glamor, taking into account the warm August climate by keeping things light and airy. Because the mountains and landscape of Park City are so naturally beautiful, they decided to keep the colors, florals and decor neutral and natural in order to not take away from the beauty of the scenery and venue.

I love when my couples choose a classic and luxurious design aesthetic that will truly never go out of style. But if we can take away anything from Madison and Andrew’s St. Regis Deer Valley wedding, it’s that elegant and timeless design can still make for a comfortable, relaxed and fun vibe. Their favorite moments from the day? Having a ceremony that was focused on exchanging their emotional vows. Their loved ones having so much fun that no one wanted to leave the dance floor. Everyone sharing a family style meal together. Creating a beautiful atmosphere allows these special moments to be facilitated, and you want to make sure those memories are captured naturally and authentically so you can relive them over and over again.
