Katie and Sam’s whimsical wedding in Park City, Utah was full of dreamy design elements and western inspired details. The Lodge at Blue Sky served as the perfect backdrop for their wedding weekend before hosting an additional reception at their family ranch in Texas. To celebrate our recent feature on Carats & Cake, I’m sharing all the details from their wedding day along with a stunning gallery at the end of the post.
Let’s start off with the lovely couple, Katie and Sam. I was originally connected to them through their wedding planner and my good friend, Michelle Leo Events. While I knew their Park City wedding day was going to be absolutely stunning, Katie and Sam had even more celebrations in mind and I was so excited for this unique project. They were also envisioning a mountain engagement session, a bridal party spa day before the wedding, a Temple ceremony, and a reception at the bride’s family ranch and property in Texas. This was all in addition to their whimsical western wedding ceremony and reception at one of my favorite Park City wedding venues, The Lodge at Blue Sky. I love when a couple goes big for their celebration and incorporates multiple events for their guests to enjoy, and Katie and Sam along with the Michelle Leo team nailed every single one.
For their Utah celebration, the vibe and aesthetic was all about whimsical western inspired design. The incredibly talented team at Artisan Bloom brought the entire venue to life with incredible floral arrangements. For their outdoor ceremony, the aisle was lined with gorgeous plumes of blue and purple flowers leading up to the grounded floral arch that made the couple look like they were standing in a field of wildflowers. Western inspired details were sprinkled throughout the event from the cowhide rugs during cocktail hour to wedding cake adorned with dried wildflowers to the groom’s classic bolo tie. Between the color palette, floral design and modern rustic venue, the mood felt so light and ethereal especially at night with the entire property adorned in twinkling lights. The theme and aesthetic was executed flawlessly while still feeling elegant, romantic and cohesive.
I couldn’t have picked a better Park City wedding venue for Katie and Sam’s day than The Lodge at Blue Sky. They held their event at The Arena, a modern reclaimed wood barn with both indoor and outdoor spaces. The ceremony was held just outside the barn with mountain views serving as the backdrop. The patio just outside the indoor venue served as the cocktail hour space and guests flowed into the reception when it was time for dinner and dancing. In the evening, the entire indoor and outdoor space was strung with lights and made for such a cozy atmosphere. It truly is an ideal space for an indoor and outdoor summer wedding and the updated barn was perfect for a whimsical western design scheme. Want to learn more about this stunning venue?
