Now I might be a little biased, but Utah has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. Sweeping snow capped mountains, fields of wildflowers, and miles of red rocks. Can you imagine a more beautiful place to get married? If you’re in search of an otherworldly wedding location with luxurious amenities, gorgeous venues, and endless natural beauty, you should definitely consider Utah. In this new series, I’ll be covering my favorite Utah wedding venues and featuring the events I’ve captured at each one. First up, The Lodge at Blue Sky. If you’re not already convinced that Utah is the perfect place to plan your dream wedding, you’ll be ready to head to the mountains by the end of this post.
Every wedding that I’ve shot at Blue Sky has been beyond stunning, and it’s a venue that I’m always recommending to my clients. With so many amazing spaces to take advantage of, the possibilities are truly endless. Blue Sky has nine different event venues that can host everything from a 300-person reception to an intimate microwedding dinner party. Two of my favorite spots are The Arena and The Tavern. The Arena is a chic and modern reclaimed wood barn with plenty of indoor and outdoor space. This is their most popular wedding venue spot and most couples opt for an outdoor ceremony with surrounding views of the Utah mountains. Afterwards, your guests can enjoy the outdoor terraces for cocktail hour and head into the venue for dinner and dancing.
If you’re envisioning a smaller celebration, Blue Sky has so many options, but The Tavern has to be my favorite. It’s an original 1800’s cabin situated in a gorgeous alpine meadow. Sounds dreamy right?! If your wedding day vision includes an al fresco dinner or a campfire under the stars, you definitely want to check out this space. Blue Sky also has additional venues for your welcome party or rehearsal dinner, and you can check out what every space has to offer on their website here.
I’ve shot a vintage inspired western wedding, an intimate outdoor wedding under the stars, and an elegant classic aesthetic wedding all at Blue Sky.
Every wedding package at The Lodge at Blue Sky includes event setup and breakdown, as well as use of all their event furniture including custom farm tables, white washed dining chairs, Restoration Hardware lounge pieces, bars and cocktail tables. They also include full event staffing and transportation for your guests between the hotel and the event site. Speaking of which, you’ll also have access to some seriously cool amenities for you and your guests to enjoy if they plan to stay on-site. They offer everything from private helicopter rides over the mountains to guided meditation and yoga sessions. Utah is home to world-class outdoor activities, so you can enjoy fly fishing, horseback riding, hiking, archery and more in the summertime. If you’re envisioning a winter wedding, your guests can enjoy snowmobiling, sleigh rides, ice fishing and of course, some of the best skiing in the world at nearby resorts. Plus, it’s located only 40 minutes from Salt Lake City airport so it’s easily accessible for guests traveling from out of town.
Some of my favorite weddings have taken place at Blue Sky and it’s a venue I never get tired of shooting at. Check out my couples on their wedding day at one of my favorite Utah wedding venues…
