From the start of their big day, it was obvious that Julie and Donny didn’t plan to play by traditional wedding rules. When entering their Omni Scottsdale Resort wedding, guests were greeted with a fresh margarita. Stunning views served as their ceremony backdrop and unique pink floral arrangements lined the aisle. Tufts of pink spray painted baby’s breath and ranunculus created an airy and ethereal feel. Another major decor element were biodegradable balloons that floated from the backs of the clear ceremony chairs and created a fun photo backdrop during the reception. Top it off with their vibrant pink and red color palette, and you have a completely unique wedding design that feels fun but chic.
Framed by sweeping views of Camelback Mountain, Omni Scottsdale Resort offers multiple wedding ceremony and reception locations. For their wedding, Julie and Donny got married on the lawn of the resort’s presidential suite. Their reception took place outside under string lights on the main lawn. The couple wanted to enjoy comfort foods, so they worked with Omni’s culinary team to create food truck inspired stations with their favorite foods- gourmet tacos, Southern fried chicken, and lo mein. Eventually, the party moved inside to the resort ballroom where they danced the night away to a live band. Guests took photos in front of the white balloon display and enjoyed late night burgers from In-N-Out. How fun does that sound?!
There were so many creative elements to this wedding that it’s hard to pick a favorite. But one of them has to be our bride Julie’s stylish two piece wedding dress. Head-to-toe, her bridal style was perfect for the laid back yet elegant vibe of the wedding. She wore her hair in loose waves and kept her makeup elevated but natural. She opted to wear a necklace she wears everyday to help feel more comfortable and “like herself” but also added some vintage gold rings and her mother’s wedding band. Her bridal set was from LOHO Bride in Los Angeles and featured a sleek skirt and bandeau top. The best part? Her adorable “something blue” suede heels.
