For this stunning San Francisco engagement session, we were literally above the clouds. Brett and Lauren wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a calm and peaceful session, and Mount Tamalpais was the ideal place. This album shows how much magic we can capture on a cloudy day during your sessions. In this blog, I’ll cover a bit about my photography style, this beautiful day chasing clouds with Brett + Lauren, and some of my favorite San Francisco engagement photo locations.

Engagement Session Above the Clouds

This San Francisco engagement session featured in Magnolia Rouge was truly like capturing a dream. Thankfully, we got more than we could have asked for with perfect golden light that faded into blues and purples and with the clouds staying at bay. We were also fortunate to be the only ones on the mountain; so not only did we feel on top of the world, we got to enjoy it in serenity – just us, the views (and the wind).

I love working with a couple to find a location for their special photos that not only embodies them as a couple but can provide them with a stress-free and fun session. There are lots of locations around California that are beautiful and have become extremely popular. I tend to avoid those busy spots for a number of reasons. The last thing we want to do during your session is be fighting for space, especially if it’s a location with a view! With so many people around, it can feel uncomfortable or pressured for couples which is exactly the environment I want to avoid for my sessions. The goal is to help you feel comfortable and relaxed so we can capture the real magic- your love!

San Francisco Engagement Photo Locations

The Bay Area is filled with endless photogenic locations for your San Francisco engagement session. Whether you’re looking for a downtown aesthetic, beachy vibes, or outdoor beauty, you’ll have no problem finding a stunning location. Here’s a few of my favorite spots that I’ve shot at or would love to book!

• Palace of Fine Arts: If you’re looking for downtown engagement photo locations, San Francisco has an endless supply. One of my favorites is the Palace of Fine Arts. Built in 1915, this landmark was modeled after the ruins of ancient Rome. 
• Sutro Baths: Such a dreamy spot with views of the Pacific Ocean. The historic ruins paired with the ocean makes for a super unique and cool spot for photos. Shots on the nearby beach can also help give you that beachy aesthetic you might be looking for! 
• Golden Gate Bridge: We can’t consider San Francisco engagement photo locations without mentioning the Golden Gate bridge. There are many different location options to capture the bridge. The overlook gives you a head-on view but it also looks beautiful from the hazy shores of Marshall Beach. Either way, this iconic landmark is such a cool addition to your photos. 
• Muir Woods: Only 40 minutes from downtown San Fran are some of the famous towering California Redwoods. Perfect for my nature couples or those looking to add an outdoor aesthetic to their engagement photos.

My Photography Style

My style and approach when it comes to photography is candid storytelling. I am a natural light analog and digital photographer that seeks to capture light, texture, color and movement. I take the time to get to know my couples to truly understand the vision for their wedding day or special event. I’ve traveled all over the world capturing the love of my couples and their most intimate and special moments. Some of my favorite projects and clients have come to me with a specific vision and want to step outside of the box which I’m always down to explore!
