If you’re considering a destination wedding or elopement in Utah, Vanessa & Zach’s intimate wedding in Moab is all the inspiration you need. They exchanged vows in an outdoor wedding ceremony next to the Colorado river surrounded by stunning rock formations. Having a small wedding gave them the ability to really connect with their guests and made for gorgeous intimate wedding photos. It’s easy to see why Moab is such a popular Utah destination wedding location. Surrounded by incredible natural beauty, there’s an endless list of spots to choose from. I had the honor of capturing Vanessa & Zach’s intimate destination wedding at Sorrel River Ranch. Their outdoor ceremony took place along the river as their closest loved ones watched them exchange romantic wedding vows. Following the ceremony was a small wedding reception where guests enjoyed a candlelight dinner. The night was filled with conversation and laughter. You could feel the love in the room for these two special people.
As a travel wedding photographer, intimate destination weddings are some of my favorite to capture. I love how it gives couples the chance to really connect and share the day with their guests. Furthermore, a smaller event allows you to stay within your wedding budget while being able to incorporate your must-have design elements or guest experiences. Not to mention, having an intimate destination wedding means getting married in a beautiful location like Moab. Such a dream!
You really can’t go wrong with neutral colors when it comes to your fall wedding color palette. For this Utah destination wedding, the couple chose elegant earth tones. The bride’s fall wedding bouquet was classic and paired beautifully with her sleek long sleeve wedding dress with an open back. For a fun twist, she added velvet booties which I absolutely loved! Choosing neutral wedding colors gives you flexibility to include fun elements to your wedding day without it being overwhelming. Think pops of color in your decor or wearing a deep burgundy lip color for the perfect fall bridal look!
As you can see in this Utah destination wedding, sometimes keeping it simple is the way to go. Not only will it make for timeless wedding photography, but you’ll never look back and regret that trend you don’t love so much anymore. On top of that, minimalist wedding decor also works for any season and compliments any color palette you choose. Plus, it allows couples to invest their wedding budget into other areas such as live music or an upgraded bar by keeping the wedding decor simple. Not to mention, those elements are the ones that your guests will remember and enjoy the most!
